Invitation Maker

A web app where users can customize invitation templates, generate a unique shareable URL, and let guests RSVP online.

  • Native PHP
  • MySQL
  • Tailwind CSS
  • JavaScript

The problem

Hosts edited invitation art in one tool and collected replies in another. Guests had no single link to open. A host would send a picture of the invite, then chase RSVPs in a separate chat or form, so the guest list never matched who actually saw the design. If the art changed, the old file was still the one people had in their messages.

The solution

A template the host can change, a unique URL, and an RSVP on that same page. The host picks a template, edits the details, and MySQL stores that invite under a shareable link. Guests open the link, see the current design, and submit yes or no. Native PHP serves the page; JavaScript handles the template edits in the browser before they are saved.

What I learned

The share link had to work before the design felt finished. People sent the draft. I also learned to keep the invite and the RSVP on one MySQL record so the guest list belongs to that URL, and to do the live template edits in JavaScript while PHP and MySQL hold the saved version.
