SpaceShift

Scheduling management web app where team leaders can manage agents, assign team members, and create hybrid work schedules for each team.

  • ReactJS
  • TypeScript
  • Tailwind CSS
  • Native PHP
  • MySQL

The problem

Hybrid schedules were kept in spreadsheets. Team leads could not see who was on site, who was remote, and who had no assignment. A change in one sheet did not show up for the rest of the team, so two people could be booked for the same day, or a seat could sit empty until someone noticed. Assigning an agent to a team was also easy to lose because that list lived in a different file from the week plan.

The solution

A schedule per team, with agents and assignments in one place a lead can edit. The lead can put someone on site or remote for the week, see who still has no assignment, and keep the team list next to the calendar.

What I learned

A week view was more useful than a perfect calendar. Leads needed to spot an empty shift, not manage a year. I also learned how to build a REST API in native PHP, without a framework, so the frontend could load teams, agents, and schedules through clear endpoints instead of parsing a spreadsheet.
